Gulfport shower
I have awesome friends from so many different times and locations in my life. It was so fun to combine all of them for one occasion!
Thank you to everyone who helped make Jones' first shower so wonderful.
Here are some pictures:

Sophie's new room
Earlier today I was outside attempting to save an old rug by tea-staining it. (another story for another day. Let's just say I let the tea bags sit too long and the rug is completely grainy. Gross)
I came back in and couldn't find sophie.
I normally keep Jones' room shut unless we are working on it. Not that I don't trust my darling malte-poo, but I would rather her not get too cozy on the new rug. Anyway, I saw the door was cracked to his room. Trouble.
She was in the middle of the rug surrounded by all of Jones' blankets, lovies, and stuffed animals that he has been given thus far. Apparently she had taken it upon herself to get out each item from the basket I had lovingly put them in and snuggle with each.
There was no chewing , slobbering on, or shredding of the little darlings, she was just snuggling, thanking me for the new room I am creating for her.
I think we may have a problem.

Decision made
The beloved chair. (not the fabric)
Thanks for all the advice. What would I do without the blog world? Especially now that I am home and have little contact with other humans.
That sounded so pathetic.

things
2) I painted two more swatches of paint on the walls this week. I think we are getting closer. Now I just have to get the crib and buffet (changing table) in the room. Hopefully the crib will come in soon. I have serveral swatches of fabrics that I am going through for the window treatments. And I am on the lookout for a chair/rocker/glider. I sat in a Best Chair Storytime series one and it was just fabulous. Not cheap, but fabulous. Is it worth the price? Anyone? Yes? No? I need it to last. And be able to be cleaned. I don't want any spit up stains to show. You feel me?
3) Whoever coined the term "Flutter" as in "You will feel your baby flutter in your stomach" was clearly male and never had a baby live in him. This is not fluttering I feel. Jones drop kicks me. Seriously, if I have on a fitted shirt, you can see my shirt move from across the room. I love it.
4) We are almost to 100 days. 3rd trimester. When did this happen? I feel like I just found out I was pregnant. It has flown. I am scared to think how fast time will fly once he is actually here.
5) I went with a friend to register at Target yesterday. A bit overwhelming, but luckily this is child #2 for her, so she pointed me in the right direction. I think I am just about through with the registery, thanks to my sis who registered for me at BabiesRUs. Talk about too many decisions. Who knew there were 50 different kinds of bottles that come with about 70 different types of nipples?

Christmas belly

Disclaimer: I know it's strange that I put preg. pics up, but I want to remember it and this is the easiest way. Plus, this is my blog. I can do as I please.
I will post more Christmas pictures soon. Henry is as adorable as ever. He really loves talking about Jones. Only one afternoon he told me Jones was no longer a baby in my belly, but was a big, fast horse. Well, ok then.
In nursery news, I cleaned out all things that are not nursery related today, so gone is the Warren-esque room. However, I have painted small swatches of paint on all walls, which has caused stress on my part. I can not decide. I put the rug down thinking that would help. It didn't. I think I need back-up. My sisters and mom will have to help me with the paint choice. This is harder than naming the kid.

Hello 2010. Bye-bye feet.
Christmas was fabulous. We spent Christmas eve and morning with Trey's family then headed to Starkville for my family's Christmas that day. Trey left to go hunting on the 27th, but I didn't care. I stayed at my parent's house until New Years Day. And it was fabulous. Trey came back on the 30th so we could spend New Years Eve together the next night.
We are both so blessed to have such amazing families that we actually enjoy spending a lot of time with. Everything was so so perfect throughout the holiday and I got plenty of sleep and food.
Which apparently I could have slowed down a bit on the latter of those two things.
I had my 25 week apt. today. First of all, and most importantly, Jones is so healthy. Praise God! We didn't have an ultrasound, but the heartbeat and my measurements are all perfect and he is growing just as he should. And I still feel fantastic.
Bad news: My weight gain. I am trying to wrap my head around gaining 8 pounds in a month. ONE MONTH. 8 POUNDS. How is that humanly possible? In my mind, I am totally going to subtract a few of those 8 lbs. due to the heavy winter clothing and boots I was wearing at the weigh-in. According to my Nana that is at least 5 lbs. Thanks, Nana. She always makes me feel better. Granted, I had only gained about 1-3 lbs in the months prior, but I was OK with those numbers. Those numbers I can handle. Not so much 8 lbs. In the words on the nurse weighing me in: "Someone enjoyed Christmas dinner this year". Not funny, lady. Not funny at all.
But I am over it now. I cried for a bit, but I am over it now.

GOOD NEWS! Jones now has some furniture. I am so excited. I am only buying a few new pieces - the crib and a rocker/glider. And the crib has been ordered. The other furniture in his nursery are family pieces, which I LOVE. We are using a tall, antique-white china cabinet that was Trey's great-grandmothers, my great-grandmother's dining room buffet as a changing table, and Trey's chest of drawers that was in his room growing up. That is just the look I was hoping for! I can't wait to see it all come together. I also bought his bedding (which I LOVE) and a rug for his room, that I kinda want to steal and put in my room. We are hoping to paint this weekend. I will post pics soon. Right now his nursery looks a bit like Mrs. Warren's classroom. (feel me, SA-ers?)
HAPPY 2010!

a few things
2) I did not send out Christmas cards. Sorry. I am telling people I am going the green route by sending Christmas wishes via the internet. Truth be told: I am holding out for some really cute birth anouncements in a few months. Next year's Christmas cards will be adorable, I am sure. I love getting Christmas cards, though. I feel guilty with each one I open that I did not send them out. Oh well. Call me cheap. Call me lazy. They just didn't happen this year. Ba hum bug.
3) Being a housewife is great. Minus the fact that there is no pay and I go days only seeing Trey, Sophie and the people in the park/grocery store. The house is clean. And that is worth it.
4) I am heading to Starkville Christmas day for a long vaca. ( I know what you are thinking: vaca from what? You don't work. Well, shut up) I am staying until the 2nd. and I. Can't. Wait.
