a few things

1) I can feel Jones kick! I felt him kick for the first time at 20 weeks. ( I am now 23) Trey has even been able to feel him. He is a very wild boy already. He kicks all the time. At one point last night on the couch, sophie was cuddled up behind me kicking me in my back and Jones was kickign me in the stomach. My kids are turning on me. Gotta love it.

2) I did not send out Christmas cards. Sorry. I am telling people I am going the green route by sending Christmas wishes via the internet. Truth be told: I am holding out for some really cute birth anouncements in a few months. Next year's Christmas cards will be adorable, I am sure. I love getting Christmas cards, though. I feel guilty with each one I open that I did not send them out. Oh well. Call me cheap. Call me lazy. They just didn't happen this year. Ba hum bug.

3) Being a housewife is great. Minus the fact that there is no pay and I go days only seeing Trey, Sophie and the people in the park/grocery store. The house is clean. And that is worth it.

4) I am heading to Starkville Christmas day for a long vaca. ( I know what you are thinking: vaca from what? You don't work. Well, shut up) I am staying until the 2nd. and I. Can't. Wait.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I am here, computer in hand.

I have been lacking a computer for a couple of weeks. Paying for Internet and not having a laptop is no fun at all. Plus, I really felt out of the loop. You miss a lot when you can't blog and facebook stalk.

I know it looks like I have been here for a while, but confession: Laura has written the last two posts for me. I was talking to a friend the other night and she said that pregnancy has changed my writing style on my blog. What are you saying? My sister has better grammar, knows how to spell and is a bit more sincere in her writing? anyway, thanks yaya for sharing the news of our baby boy.

My days are different now as I have started a new role as a housewife. It is not near as glamorous or dramatic as those on Wisteria Lane, but dinner is cooked every night nonetheless. I will start substitute teaching in January. That should be very interesting. I am sure blog stories will follow. Especially since apparently I look like I am in high school. I was at the post office the other day when I was told to skip in line in front of this older man because he was "sure I was needing to get back to class". When I looked at him confused he accused me of playing hooky from high school. Awesome. I look like a knocked up tenth grader.

Life is still grand. I feel fantastic (sans the heartburn that just started up a couple of days ago. Nothing a glass of milk can't cure, so no complaints) and just growing bigger everyday. I am breaking down and buying maternity clothes tomorrow. My mother-in-law and I are going shopping. I have exhausted the three outfits that fit comfortably.

I am having a time finding boy bedding I love, though. Designing custom bedding is overwhelming to me and I am not loving the bedding that I am finding. I called Pottery Barn Kids and they told me a new collection of nursery bedding is coming out in January. Fingers crossed. In the meantime, website suggestions/ stores for nursery bedding would be greatly appreciated.

Here are a couple of pics from Henry and Colton's (his BFF) TRAIN PARTY last weekend. It was precious and we had so much fun! And, yes, I rode the train.

I can't believe they are three. Stop growing so fast, Henry Thomas. the mama and the aunts
Look at that precious, excited face.

The mamas with the two birthday boys

The train. It took everyone around the neighborhood several times. so cute

Henry turned 3 and can now say Trey and not Frey. Yes, we were kinda sad. But then again, this means truck is no longer **ck. So it's a win/win situation.

cute cake (and mighty tasty too)

Birthday boys!

And GOOD NEWS!! Kristen passed her final Step test I blogged about weeks ago. We all knew she would, but it is still such a huge weight off of her shoulders - off all of our shoulders.
Now on to Starkville to practice OBGYN. Go Dr. Fyke, Go!

and he shall be called...

Jones Edward Skaggs
(We will call him "Jones")
Jones is Trey's parents' last name. Trey's dad came into their family when Trey was very young and has been Trey's hero ever since. We wanted to honor him by naming our son after him.
This will be the 5th generation of Edwards in my family, starting with my late Dada's dad, John Edward; my Dada, Thomas Edward; my uncle, Bobby Edward; and my cousin, Jake Edward.
We're excited about both of the family names we have chosen.
Now...let the monogramming begin!!!!!!
P.S...If you are monogramming his initials, please put "S" in the middle, so that it will not look like "JES"... that is not the nickname I'm going for (and yes, I'm a psycho).

change of plans...

So...Trey and I went to the doctor this morning and SURPRISE! It had a wee wee!!
We're having a BOY!
The baby looks very healthy but I'm not as far along as we all thought. Instead of being 20 weeks, I'm only 18 weeks, which makes us realize that trying to sneak a peak a few weeks ago was entirely too early.
Bottom line--the baby looks healthy, I feel great, and we are excited!
Thanks for your prayers!
P.S... I've already ordered a few dresses, so don't look at baby boy Skaggs too strangely when you see him wearing pink smocks and bloomers.

Birthday boy!

I have not had internet for a few days. I am sure I have been missed.

Two important happenings since I last posted:

1) Today is little Henry's 3rd birthday! I can't believe he is three. I feel like a maw-maw when I say this, but they grow up so fast! We are going saturday for his train birthday party. I can't wait.

2) Thanksgiving was fabulous. We were able to see tons of family and eat tons of food. But possibly the more important thing: We won the Egg Bowl. From Dixon with Love!!

I go tomorrow to the doctor to find out for sure that this little one inside of me is a girl. Hopefully the baby will be a lilttle more cooperative than she was last time. An hour later we think it's a girl. Ha. I will let you know!

Happy Tuesday!
