oh-TWO-dles!

Family pictures are a challenge. Add extra sugar and just admit defeat before you start!  I wore Minnie footed PJs to the party, and I can't lie - I still have them on.

Anna Joy had her Minnie Mouse Pajama Party today. Despite the terrential downpour (which ended up being a tornado later today!), we had a great time.  My family, neighbors and small group girls and their kiddos came over for a Minnie Mouse brunch, complete with top your own pancakes.  Anna Joy was in heaven with all the Minnie Mouse, and Jones was in heaven with all of the sugar!

Funny story: I decided since it was a brunch and there was plenty of sugar with the pancakes and toppings that I wouldn't not have a cake at her party, but instead just make a small cake on her actual birthday. Jones couldn't believe I could commit such a birthday crime.  He very seriously told me last night "But mama! Cakes are for parties. Pancakes are for breakfast!"

So long, 2014. Hello 2025!

I love a new year. Fresh starts and clean calendars. And I love making resolutions and goals!

For the 2nd year in a row, we have spent NYE with our dear friends and all if our wild kids. Several couples and lots of kiddos, lots of fun! We turn her house upside down, bless her generous heart. It's such a laid back fun night...yummy food, annual burning of the Christmas trees, fireworks and apparently no kids sleeping. Not one child crashed before midnight! I was shocked. My two surprised me and loved the fireworks. Anna Joy would clap and say "wow! Do it 'gain" and "good job!" after each one. It's 9:20 on New Years Day and both are still sleeping. I say that's a success.

I'm looking forward to this year and the possibilities. 2014 was a good, promising, challenging, fun and full of change year. Here's to 2015 being one of seeking God's face and standing amazed at His faithfulness!

I regret not taking my real camera, but here are just a few pictures off of my (very old) iPhone from last night. Happy New Year, friends!
A few years ago I made the resolution to stop taking myself and life so seriously.  It has come a long way and resulted in us wearing these shirts to the NYE get-together. (Why do we even own these? That is a question for Trey, who has never ever taken himself too seriously.)

Watching the tree burning! Apparently the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Jones dressed himself in his "party clothes".
