Birthday fun

We had fun celebrating Jones' big day!

On his birthday, he woke up to balloons and blew out birthday candles in a banana. How can it be more fun than that?!

Then Trey and I took cupcakes to his class. We were there when Jones woke up from his nap and I think it confused him. He cried for the first ten minutes of his class party! He never cries. He got over it when he saw we came bearing cupcakes. We took off the rest of the afternoon and just played together - the three of us. So fun!

That night we celebrated three birthdays at our house: Jones (April 17), Uncle Bobby (19th) and my daddy (20th). So much fun!

We ended the birthday celebration today at the Doctors for his 2 year check-up. No shots today - Just reporting in what we thought: he is huge. 95% for height (37 inches) and 90% for weight (32 lbs.).

My big boy.

Two years later, and my life is completely changed.

You are so very, very loved, little man.

Easter Morning

I do love a baby in a bonnet. Sweet Noelle Adams looked like a baby doll on Easter morning!
Our best picture after about a million attempts of getting a good of of the grandparents with the kids. Wild, I tell you!
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead
1 Peter 1:3Trey and I were both able to get individual pictures with Jones at our house before church. No smile from the little man, but documented at least!

We had a wonderful Easter!

Although Trey declared this the year Jones refuses to be still for a picture, we were able to at least get a couple of half way decent shots. Most of the pictures we have include him running away, climbing a tree, fighting to be let down, picking the flowers at the church, digging in the dirt, or trying to tackle Henry. I gave up on trying to get a group picture! He is one wild child.

He was delighted to see the Easter bunny came by that morning. He carefully examined each little gift with a WOW! before placing them all in a perfect line on the couch. Funny man.

My parents are remodeling their home, but their kitchen was declared "cookable" so my mom cooked an Easter feast for us after church. The dining room is still under construction, but we were happy to sit outside to eat - thankful for gorgeous weather! After dinner, the boys hunted eggs. I laughed at Jones' basket. Not only did he find eggs, but also sticks, grass, and dirt!

Easter weekend

After traveling for work some last week, I was more than excited to have a long three-day weekend with both of my boys. The weather was gorgeous, so outside we stayed! Jones had his first snow cone, which, naturally, he devoured. We grilled out with the family, went on long jogs, dyed Easter eggs, and played hard! And sweet Noelle Adams was right there along the ride for everything. During one of our many outdoor festivities, she was missing her sun hat, so I went in and retrieved one of Jones' baby sun hats. She is already a trooper putting up with so many boy things!
It was a wonderful weekend that somehow, even though it was longer than most, went by at record speed.

Three cheers for daddy!

He doesn't do social media, so I can safely brag on my daddy without the risk of him seeing it.

My daddy was named Starkville's 2012 man of the year. Hip hip for daddy!

I am always so proud to be his daughter.

walk down memory lane

My parents are in the process of remodeling their home. Specifically, their kitchen and master bath. But all the rooms were painted and will be redecorated, and new wood was put down on the staircase where old carpet used to be.

I suppose the only natural thing for them to do next...in the middle of construction... was clean out the attic? Right? Yeah, I don't know either.

At any rate, they rid their attic of all things and sent the three of us home with boxes and boxes of childhood dreams and memories. Dramatic, I know.

Apparently I kept every letter ever written to me since about the 5th grade. And, as it turns out, I also kept every journal I have ever written in. I was quite the dramatic child. And apparently 7th grade was a tough year.

Sheesh...I hope I have a house full of boys.

I digress.

One good thing, aside from the plethora of cheerleader uniforms that now live at my house, was a table and chairs my parents had made for the three of us.

I was told I could only borrow it, that somehow we will all have to share it. Maybe it will be passed around from child to child? Obviously us Tomlinsons are in to keeping the score even.

Jones is very fond of his new table and demands that we all, including Sophie, sit with him while he dines.

There are paint stains all over this table from when we were young. I love it.

And the hearts and cut-out names? Precious.

Now I just need to find a home for high school uniforms, letters from old boyfriends, and school notebooks. Pack-rat much?

Luck of the Irish

Our st. Patrick's day included a cook out with the family at our house Friday night.
The kids, of course, were dressed the part!

We have loved the weather here lately! We spent all weekend outside. I love this time of year. My allergies, unfortunately, do not. I am suffering from a double ear infection and I sound just awful. Here's hoping I am better next weekend - 5K race, baseball game and family coming into town!

90 years

Saturday we celebrated my sweet Mamaw's 90th birthday. 90 years. Can you imagine? Think about all that this lady has seen and experienced in her lifetime. Amazing!

She lives in a nursing home now and her memory fails her at times and her eyesight is very minimal, but other than that she is healthy. She is an amazing, strong lady and I am so proud to call her my Mamaw.

We were able to get a picture taken with Mamaw and her 4 children, her youngest one being my mom, her 8 grandchildren, and her 9 great-grandchildren. So special.
She loves babies and wouldn't let go of Jones....until Noelle Adams got there! Then she just wanted to love all over the smallest of the babies! She kept saying "y'all just leave these babies with me and go on".
Sweet Mamaw.

Blessed family we are!

Did you know I have a niece?

I feel like I have neglected this here blog. And that's not the kind of operation I want to run. Do something right or don't do it at all, you know?
So I am going to try to get back on the blogging train, so to speak.
Starting with a very important addition to our family: Noelle Adams. She came a few weeks after our abrupt move. Lucky for us, our move was to the current resident of this precious child.
Henry's got a little baby sister.
And we are all in love.
How could you not be?
Here she is this morning sporting a dress my Mamaw made that my sisters and I wore back in the 80s. Sweet thing.

He refused to touch the cake. I tried all I could think of! So much for a smash cake.

Jones' Frog Prince First Birthday Party

We had a wonderful celebration of Jones' first year on April 2nd. We were so blessed to be surrounded by our families and incredible friends.. I have prayed and prayed for friends since moving to the coast and the Lord has certaintly provided me with a group of wonderful stay at home moms that love my child like their own.

We had the party at our fabulous neighborhood park and could not have asked for a better day. It was beautiful weather all day.

Here are a few pictures. I had the best time planning his party.

This is one very loved little boy. I can't believe he will be one on the 17th!

My little family.
