If you notice, there are a lack of pictures on the blog lately. Sorry. Dead camera. I am getting all Christmas pictures from my mom and sisters soon. And I have my 24 week picture to share. Joy of joys.
Christmas was fabulous. We spent Christmas eve and morning with Trey's family then headed to Starkville for my family's Christmas that day. Trey left to go hunting on the 27th, but I didn't care. I stayed at my parent's house until New Years Day. And it was fabulous. Trey came back on the 30th so we could spend New Years Eve together the next night.
We are both so blessed to have such amazing families that we actually enjoy spending a lot of time with. Everything was so so perfect throughout the holiday and I got plenty of sleep and food.
Which apparently I could have slowed down a bit on the latter of those two things.
I had my 25 week apt. today. First of all, and most importantly, Jones is so healthy. Praise God! We didn't have an ultrasound, but the heartbeat and my measurements are all perfect and he is growing just as he should. And I still feel fantastic.
Bad news: My weight gain. I am trying to wrap my head around gaining 8 pounds in a month. ONE MONTH. 8 POUNDS. How is that humanly possible? In my mind, I am totally going to subtract a few of those 8 lbs. due to the heavy winter clothing and boots I was wearing at the weigh-in. According to my Nana that is at least 5 lbs. Thanks, Nana. She always makes me feel better. Granted, I had only gained about 1-3 lbs in the months prior, but I was OK with those numbers. Those numbers I can handle. Not so much 8 lbs. In the words on the nurse weighing me in: "Someone enjoyed Christmas dinner this year". Not funny, lady. Not funny at all.
But I am over it now. I cried for a bit, but I am over it now.

GOOD NEWS! Jones now has some furniture. I am so excited. I am only buying a few new pieces - the crib and a rocker/glider. And the crib has been ordered. The other furniture in his nursery are family pieces, which I LOVE. We are using a tall, antique-white china cabinet that was Trey's great-grandmothers, my great-grandmother's dining room buffet as a changing table, and Trey's chest of drawers that was in his room growing up. That is just the look I was hoping for! I can't wait to see it all come together. I also bought his bedding (which I LOVE) and a rug for his room, that I kinda want to steal and put in my room. We are hoping to paint this weekend. I will post pics soon. Right now his nursery looks a bit like Mrs. Warren's classroom. (feel me, SA-ers?)
HAPPY 2010!
