iPhone picture dump.

Our week in phone pictures.

Lots of good stuff is going on in our lives. I can't wait to share.

In the meantime....
Recovering from the stomach bug. (Jones is faking)
Tired from church.
Trains. Every night.
Walking across the "bridge"
Watching the game with Grandaddy
pool time
Henry's T-ball game - yes, Jones thought he needed to be in the dugout.

Trey had it Tuesday. Now it's my turn.

Reader input requested (demanded)

What camera do you recommend? What do you use?

I need a nice one.

{I wish I could say this was for my personal use, but it is not.  I need a new one for work.}

What do you recommend? Why? Price options? Lenses?

I am not a professional photographer, and am not expected to be at my job.  I just need something that is user friendly and can take nice pictures of our events and such.

One day I will own a nice one for myself.  It is my ultimate material item on my wish-list.

Come on, don't be shy. Comment.

Muchas gracias!

Jones - 2 year pictures

My dear friend and photographer extraordinaire has done it again.

Tricia has taken all all of Jones' pictures since he was in my belly.
She is so good.

If you are in the Alabama/Mississippi area, I highly recommend her.  You will not be disappointed.

Check out her site here: http://www.bettydonnephotography.blogspot.com/

Love her. Love the pictures. Love our friendship.  Love my child.

That's a whole lotta love going around.

Check out more on her site.  Or on my Facebook. (Are we friends?)

Etsy shop

One of my very favorite people finally opened her Etsy shop.

I have three prints in my house - Jones' bedroom, Jones' bathroom, and our kitchen.
You will love them.  I have the one in Jones' room matted with a wide mat and framed in a chunky distressed frame.  I always get compliments on it.

Check it out here - http://www.etsy.com/shop/NKCreative?ref=seller_info

You will love.

The prints and Nan, of course.

The print in Jones' nursery. Precious.

Keeping it Real Friday

Remember back in February when I posted about my meal planning?

(here: http://skaggsfamily.blogspot.com/2012/02/feb-meal-planning.html)

How cute of me. How put together I was.  You all must have been so impressed.

Here's a true fact (which, aren't all facts, by nature true? I still say "true fact" a good bit): I haven't "meal planned" since that day.

And I am fairly certain I haven't cooked a decent meal since then either.

Is it just me or does the spring suddenly explode with events and obligations? I am not necessarily complaining, it's just fact.

I have no time to cook.

And, I just don't want to cook.

I am ever grateful for the longer days and a husband who likes to grill

Plus, we are doing good to have the three of us eating a meal at the same time.  Last night Jones had Annie's Mac-n-Cheese, roast beef, and strawberries.  Trey ate at the baseball game with friends.  And I had Special K.

Sign me up for the Betty Crocker Award.

Side note: My mom actually won the Betty Crocker Award in high school.  Another true fact.  She is queen of all things domestic.  I have stopped trying to live up.

I also can't sew.  And while we are at it, I am so far from crafty.

However, on Pinterest, I am a rock star.   Well-dressed, beautiful home, crafty and a gourmet cook.

I love my Pinterest self.

Happy Super Bulldog Weekend, y'all. And a very happy birthday to my Daddy!

Shop Deep South Pout and help bring Max home!

There are some pretty special people in my life. And I love when those special people team up for a special cause.

My favorite store EVER and former employer, Deep South Pout, not only has the cutest and most affordable clothes around, but they are also the most generous. Seriously, the owners, my dear friends Shannon and Nicole, have hearts of gold. They are constantly helping out local charities, the school district, and individuals in the area. They are amazing.

Well, now they have teamed up with my friend, Meagan and her husband. Meagan and Wes are adopting a sweet boy from Ethiopia, Max, and Deep South Pout is committed to help bring precious Max home to Mississippi.

You can read more about the Gordon's journey here: http://thewesgordonfamily.blogspot.com/
(Seriously...how cute is this family? All they need is their sweet Max!)

DSP will be donating a portion of their sales the ENTIRE week of April 23 - 28 to help bring this little boy home. Amazing.

Don't worry, you don't have to live in Starkville or Columbus to help out. They ship literally all over the country for a flat fee of $7. Seriously, I die of cuteness.

Birthday fun

We had fun celebrating Jones' big day!

On his birthday, he woke up to balloons and blew out birthday candles in a banana. How can it be more fun than that?!

Then Trey and I took cupcakes to his class. We were there when Jones woke up from his nap and I think it confused him. He cried for the first ten minutes of his class party! He never cries. He got over it when he saw we came bearing cupcakes. We took off the rest of the afternoon and just played together - the three of us. So fun!

That night we celebrated three birthdays at our house: Jones (April 17), Uncle Bobby (19th) and my daddy (20th). So much fun!

We ended the birthday celebration today at the Doctors for his 2 year check-up. No shots today - Just reporting in what we thought: he is huge. 95% for height (37 inches) and 90% for weight (32 lbs.).

My big boy.

Two years later, and my life is completely changed.

You are so very, very loved, little man.
