Where are my eyes? lost in the cheeks, apparently!
We had the best anniversary ever! (I know, I have no other anniversary to compare it to, but this one was fabulous!)
Memphis was perfect. The food was great, the hotel was perfect, and Damien was incredible. I suggest to you, once again, that you listen to Damien Rice if you do not already. So mellow, so great.
We started out on Beale before the concert in the Orpheum. We had a great time. At our first stop, Pat O's, this nice lady commented on my extreme southern accent. (WHAT? well, maybe)Anyway, I proceed to tell her my life story, because, let's face it, I do not meet a stranger. I tell her how I am from Mississippi and we were celebrating our 1 year and how when we were first dating Trey lived in Atlanta. That caught her attention: she lived in Atlanta. So I felt the need to tell her what he did: youth minister in Conyers. GET THIS: She goes to the same church! She looked at him funny and said "Trey?? your name is Trey, right??". So of course we stayed and talked to this precious lady and her husband on Beale about the church and the youth group. It was perfect.
Next stop, Silky's. The nice little waitress girl asked if we had ever been there (i think because I was taking pictures of the goats that they keep out back...extremly touristy, but WHY do they keep goats at a bar?). So, again, I proceed to tell her about us and how Silky's was a special place to me and how we were on our anniversary trip. She looks at Trey funny and said "Trey??? Like from the Happening? The guitar player"

Yes, my husband is welll known around these parts for being involved in the church and the Happening (a high school methodist retreat) and playing the guitar. I love it. Of course as we were walking to the concert he tells me that I am so lucky to be married to such a famous person.

pa-lease.
Anyway, here are a few pictures from the trip! We thought it was funny (ok, I thought it was funny) how on the honeymoon it was hard to get a picture of both of us, so we have a lot of us by ourselves, so we re-inacted. (ok, I made him do it)
Also, comparing these pictures to our wedding and honeymoon pictures makes it certain that I must start my post-first year of marriage-diet PRONTO.
