Ummm...Not so much.
My mom and I made batches of peas and butternut squash this weekend for Jones. I was so excited for him to try it. The ped recommended we do cereal mid-morning and a vegetable mid-afternoon. We tried peas last night for the first time and again tonight.
Disaster.
Hated it.
Tonight was even worse. He made horrible gagging sounds. I couldn't force them down! Maybe we will have better luck with the squash.
We will try the peas again tomorrow. I was told give it 3-5 days with each new food for him to become used to the texture and flavor.
But, in his defense, he is also not 100%. Poor thing did not take well to his vaccinations and flu shots. He was up all night last night (and thus, so were we!) with 102 degree fever. He is also suffering from a pretty bad cough. The nurse on call last night had me give him Tylenol every 4 hours through the night. He broke the fever around 4 this morning and has not had any today. But he is still not himself and not napping at all. If tonight is not better, we are heading back to the doctor in the morning.
Bless his heart...I am ready for him to be back to his happy self!

So sorry little Jones is experiencing so much discomfort these days. Hopefully he will shake whatever is bothering him soon. Hang in there.
Sorry to hear Jones is sick. That is stressful for parents, esp. the Mommy. Hope he gets well soon.
Try mixing applesauce or pears, etc
with his veggies. I'm sure some would disagree, but it's the only way Witt will eat his green beans, peas, and carrots :)
Blessings, ejw
Poor Jones...hope he feels better! And I do not blame him for not eating those peas! :)
I want my Jones to feel better soon! And by the way...peas look pretty nasty! haha:)
Awwww! I hope he feels better soon!!!!
and Even though he doesn't like those peas, they sure do look cute on his little face!!! My kids HATED peas too. gagging, tears, etc...
I am with EJ - add some sweet and he will eat them! =) But of course, do what you and trey and your doc decide =)
Camp loved squash and sweet potatoes so much, he turned a little bit orange - no lie! My doc said it was okay though. Both of my kids NEVER liked peas...
Camp (at 5) will eat anything (even green stuff), Nash is a whole other story! So don't worry if he doesn't love the peas now - he will eventually!
Good luck tonight! Hope y'all get some rest and that sweet pea (pun intended =)) gets some rest!
Emerson gagged with peas too but loved squash & sweet potatoes & green beans! I hope he feels better soon & hope it's not ears again! :(
