insert sad face here.
But we had a great time, so I shall not focus on the fact that they have all left! My mom, dad, and Nana came on Wednesday for a short trip. Naturally we showed them fabulous fresh seafood (none of which I could partake in), and gave them a quick tour of the coast. Which could have possibly been more beneficial for me, but I acted like I was a local and talked about the building back since Katrina. I think they were impressed with my knowledge that I stole from the website.
We had so much fun, just in that short time. I wish it could have been longer. And I could kick myself for not having any pictures. My camera has been acting up (perhaps Santa wants to bring me a new one?) so I have been relying on my camera phone far too much. Anyway, no pictures of my parents and Nana's first trip to our little home on the coast. Come back, please.
Then on Friday, Laura came for a long weekend. Apparently the coast tour with the parents did not come in handy for this visit. When she got here on Friday afternoon, we decided to make what turned out to be a not-so-quick run to Target. The reason for the longevity of the trip? I got us lost. Seriously, bona fide no-idea-where-we-are, lost. I still blame it on the Iphone. I plugged in Target and it took me to Target Crime Stop. Who knew? Not me. We ended up in the ghetto in the next town over. Come to find out, Target is a very hard store to miss around here.
Apparently, just right off the interstate. You can see the red circles for miles. Well, no such luck for this newbie. We ended up safely escaping the ghetto to find a decent looking Subway, in which I made Laura go inside ask the teenage sandwich maker directions to the store.
I did take a picture of that:
And, after she insisted that she take the wheel, a picture of her examining the not so clear directions.
If you are wondering, we found it. And if you are also wondering, I bought shoes just so the trip was made worth it.
Sorry, Laura. I also got us a wee bit lost coming home from, was it the grocery store? I can't remember. I blame it on pregnancy brain. It is a real thing, readers.
Sat. we stayed home, no costumes. I really hope by next year to be invited to a Halloween party. I love being the new kid (with child) in town. But I am not bitter. We watched the State game. And what a fabulous game it was. Did anyone else watch Anthony Dixon's interview?
If that didn't make me have a Happy Halloween, I don't know what would.
She left this morning as I was preparing for work. I don't really say "getting ready", because there is little primping that I do before I go into my home office. But I do have to be mentally prepared. I think I needed a long vacation and/or heavy medication to be fully prepared for this Monday, however. But alas, it is over.
Here's to fun times with the family and Monday being over...

that's a sweet pic. of me.
Glad to see your internal Tom Tom not only works in north MS, it works on the Coast, too!
Love you anyway!
Aw, you totally should've partaken in the awesome seafood! I was totally paranoid about eating it at first but my doctor said it is completely fine in moderation (like once a week). Hope things are going well for you guys!!
So cute! I'm glad you were able to visit with your family.
I watched Anthony Dixon's interview over on Laura's blog and he was just so cute.
Hope you have a great week!
Loved, loved, loved getting to see you, Trey, & Sophie! Also, enjoyed our visit with Peggy & Ronnie. I am mad at myself, too; I had my camera in my purse the whole time!!!!
Love you!
