Bikini Boot Camp

I get random emails. I had to change my email account because of this fact. I signed up to receive some sort of free soap and the next morning I woke up with 1,279 unread messages. No thank you.

I still check that account every now and then just in case there happens to be something of importance in my inbox.

This morning I got an email with this subject: BIKINI BOOT CAMP.
Hmmmmm......

This is ironic because I recently turned over a new leaf in my life. By recently, I mean I am planning on starting today.

I am going to run again. I used to do this so consistently. Now, I may run 2 times a week, and that is rare. Take this week, for example. I ran Sunday and Tuesday. That's it. Nothing more, nothing less.

Well, it is all about to change. I am motivated. I bought new running shoes last night at the mall.

I convinced Trey that new running shoes would really help this new quest I am taking, so off we went on the journey for the perfect pair of running shoes.

Once inside Hibbets, I found a nice young man, Scott, to help me find just the right pair of shoes for my training. (I told him I was training for a marathon, but Trey rolled his eyes and said "Man, she is all yours" and walked off, so I don't think Scott took me too seriously on the marathon part.)

Anyway, I spotted them! The were Nike's (which according to Trey are made in sweat shops, so he would not buy them anyway) and on Oprah's favorite things list! Oprah loves them! YES! I will take them!!!

So I asked Scott if they were great running shoes, because afterall, Oprah said so. He said that was stupid and I should not buy running shoes because Oprah likes them. I told Scott that Oprah, herself, ran a marathon, but he was unphased. He convinced me that if I wanted to be a "real runner" I did not need those "glam" running shoes.

Well, crap. Sorry, Oprah, maybe next time.

So then he introduced me to the serious running shoes. Ok, so they may never be on Oprah's Favorite Things list, but they felt great. I felt athletic. I picked out the 2006 model (MUCH cheaper than the 2007 model.) Scott went to the back to find my size. My adrenaline was pumping. When he returned I asked if I could take a quick jog in them to make sure they were perfect, because, let's face it, I am in training. He said yes as he smirked at Trey who was hiding in the corner. So I did.

In my skirt, top, and new running shoes not yet been purchased, I took a quick jog around the store.

PERFECT!
I love them. I can feel myself getting in shape just thinking about my new shoes.

This is the beginning of a new me....

I think this is my favorite post. I love it. I would have asked to jog around the store, too. This is serious business. Not to be taken lightly. Oprah or no Oprah.

your legs are disgusting! Never let them get that scrawny! But I must admit, your hair and make-up look fantastic.
